How are we helping people buy and sell homes during the pandemic? We do many things that benefit both buyers and sellers and keep them safe in the process. Here is an overview:

For buyers, we’re conducting consultations virtually; we’re setting up Zoom meetings and sharing our screen so we can show you the methodology of buying a home from A to Z. This way, you can speak with us from the comfort of your own home. We’ll send you houses that meet your wants and needs for you to peruse, and if there’s a property that doesn’t have good enough pictures, we’ll happily go to the home and do a virtual tour for you so you can see every corner.

For our listings, we create a Zoom event and invite buyers to view the house through a high quality, high definition 3D virtual tour; this way, they can walk through the home as if they were there physically. Through these, you can see every angle of the house and the yard, and it’s very convenient. These allow buyers to know ahead of time whether they want to see a property in person or not, thus limiting the number of people walking through the home.

Inspectors and appraisers are taking safety precautions by wearing masks and gloves, and they’re still getting the job done.

When opening escrow on a new purchase, you can either physically go to the escrow company and deposit a check, or you can wire it—but take extra precautions if you choose that route. I recommend calling the escrow company for the account number first.

When it comes to documentation and getting everything signed, we’ve been using DocuSign, which is an online software. All you need is an email address!

When you close, I or a courier can bring the keys to you, or we can meet at the house with gloves and masks.

If you have further questions about buying or selling during the health crisis or concerning real estate in general, please call or email us. We would love to help you.
